When to install or replace your AC

In Dubai’s climate, the typical service life of a residential split AC is 8-12 years with regular maintenance. After year 10, repair costs and energy bills usually add up to more than the cost of a new high-efficiency unit. We’ll always tell you honestly when replacement makes more sense than repair — including a payback calculation based on your DEWA bills.

Common signs it’s time to replace: refrigerant gas top-ups every season, compressor failure, cooling capacity dropping noticeably year-on-year, R-22 refrigerant systems (now phased out), and DEWA bills that have crept up despite regular servicing.

Our installation process

1. Site survey — free for installs of two or more units. We measure room sizes, check insulation and glazing, and calculate the correct cooling load (BTU) per space.
2. Unit recommendation — we propose 2-3 options across budget, mid-range, and high-efficiency tiers, with energy-cost projections for each.
3. Fixed-price quotation — covering supply, installation, brackets, copper piping, drainage, electrical work, and commissioning. No hidden extras.
4. Installation — clean install with proper bracketing, vacuum pulldown, leak testing, and refrigerant charging to manufacturer spec.
5. Commissioning & handover — we run performance checks, calibrate the thermostat, and walk you through controls and basic care.
6. Warranty & first service — manufacturer warranty plus our installation warranty. First maintenance visit included free at month 6.

Why correct sizing matters in Dubai

Oversized AC units short-cycle (turn on and off rapidly) — they cool the air quickly but never run long enough to remove humidity, leaving rooms feeling clammy. Undersized units run constantly without ever reaching the set temperature, burning electricity and shortening compressor life.

We calculate cooling load using room volume, glazing area and orientation, occupancy, equipment heat gains, and Dubai’s outdoor design temperature. The result is a unit sized correctly for your space — not the cheapest big number, not the most expensive small number.
